Today we wanted to let you know that of course we cannot open our campsite as planned. We have no fixed opening date at this current time, as we don’t know what is going to happen. We want to reassure our customers that they can transfer the value of their stay to a later date. We are working at this moment to create a discount code system which will allow you to rebook. This would be emailed to you with the address provided on your original booking. Please be patient with us at this time there is a lot to process and we are a small team busily preparing to start lambing on the farm. Thank you. Joanna, Nick and John

- We have our own booking portal! Where possible is would be great if you could book via this method rather than through a third party site.

- New for 2020, during the winter we have been building a new purpose built eco washblock. This will include more showers (which will now be free), loos, disabled facilities, indoor potwash and all heated :)

- From 2019 we are no longer part of the camping and caravanning club, this means anyone whether a member or not can enjoy our beautiful site without any additional membership fees.

Hello and welcome to Dale Farm. We are a small, rural camp site and working farm in Great Longstone, Derbyshire.

Dale Farm is right in the heart of the wonderful Peak District countryside, less than a mile away from Monsal Head and the Monsal Trail and a few miles from Bakewell and Chatsworth House, we are ideally situated for a visit to experience what the area has to offer.

Whether you are interested in walking, rambling, mountain biking, climbing, cycling, landscape photography, stargazing or sightseeing and shopping, it is all right on our doorstep.

We have pitches for tents, campervans, motorhomes and trailer tents (sorry no caravans without prior approval). We also rent out bell tents for 2-4 people which are fully kitted out so you can camp in style whilst only having to bring minimal camping gear.

Our farm shop sells all our own meats, jams and chutneys (when available), cakes and treats plus eggs from our friends down the road. We also have fire wood, kindling, fire lighters etc.

PLEASE NOTE: we must emphasise that we are strictly a quiet and peaceful camp site where no music is allowed and groups are discouraged due to their tendency to make too much noise.

We enforce a rule of a quiet site between the hours of 10pm and 7am, where car movement is prohibited during these hours and we ask that campers respectfully keep their voices at a low level so as not to disturb those wishing to have an early night to make the most of the surroundings the following morning.

We have created a camp site in a beautiful peaceful location for people to enjoy and respect these surroundings. This is not a party site or a place to stay up late and get drunk. If you are wanting to do this then please do not book here. We reserve the right to cancel any booking and refuse entry to any one we feel is likely to break these rules and disturb the peace.

The quickest and easiest way to book with us is via our online booking portals below. Please note if no availability appears it may be that you have not selected enough nights.

My Vehicle

What is the maximum vehicle size for your site?
Although our pitches are large and spacious vehicles larger than 7.5 meters may struggle to access the site.
Do you allow caravans?

We've had many caravans owners visit our farm and we're happy to have you. In recent years we've discovered a number of factors which you should probably consider before booking.

  1. We recommend small to medium sized caravans due to access and maneuverability when on site.
  2. We recommend the driver be confident in towing and maneuvering.
  3. Motor movers are helpful but work best traversing our hillside (not going up it).
  4. The longer your car or van the harder it will be to access the site (due to the wider turning circle).

Group bookings

Do you allow groups?
During off peak times this may be possible. Prior arrangement / special approval must be granted before booking. A good behaviour security deposit may be necessary. Please note that any noisy/rowdy behaviour or bad language will not be tolerated, offenders may be asked to leave.
Do you accept DofE groups?
At the moment we only accept DofE groups during week days.
